JUN IIZUKA

1987, Niigata, Japan

Jun Iizuka was born and raised in Niigata and is a conceptual mixed-media artist active both domestically and internationally. In recent years, he has been presenting works that evoke his own memories from everyday, ordinary objects such as found photos and objets trouvés. Particularly, he explores creating works that temporarily establish another phase in response to our fluid world through approaches that incorporate playfulness. Jun Iizuka's art is expressed through various media, including existing photographs, sculptures, and installations. He obtained his MFA (Master of Fine Arts) from the Graduate School of Nagaoka Institute of Design in 2023 and his BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) from Yokohama College of Art and Design in 2014. He has participated in numerous art fairs both in Japan and around the world, and some of his works are included in the collection of the Artist Library at Tai Kwun in Hong Kong. Recent solo exhibitions include shows at Yukihira Gallery in Tokyo. He has also written and published several essays on the practical theories of artistic creation.
