STAR DUST Jun Iizuka 2013-2025
89 × 127 mm, photographs
Silver gelatin prints or pigment prints
STAR DUST is a found photography work that transforms a set of private, forgotten photographs—travel images discovered among the belongings of the artist’s late grandfather—into a “journey of recollection.” At its core lies the act of granting new perspective to memories on the verge of oblivion: gathering them as fragments of “stardust” and reconfiguring them into constellations. In this way, the work also becomes a re-experience of the gaze of the artist’s grandmother, who originally took the photographs.
