日本のギャラリーでは、作品が売れると、そのそばに赤いシールを貼ることがあります。この小さな赤い印は、どこか不思議な存在です。シールが貼られていると、作品そのものよりも先に、「売れた」という情報が目に入ってくることがあります。

​

《ソルドアウト!》は、そんな赤いシールを写真に収め、その写真を作品として販売するプロジェクトです。

​

作品が売れたことを知らせる印が、今度はそれ自体、売られる作品になる。そんな少しおかしな関係を楽しむ試みです。

​

In Japanese art galleries, a small red sticker is sometimes placed beside an artwork when it has been sold. There is something curious about this little red mark. Sometimes, before we even look at the artwork itself, we notice the sticker and realize that someone has already bought it.

​

SOLD OUT! is a project in which the artist photographs these red stickers and sells the photographs as artworks.

​

A small mark that tells us an artwork has been sold now becomes an artwork for sale itself. The project finds a little humor in this curious relationship.
