《ラスト・ドライブ》は、85歳で車の運転をやめることにした祖母の、最後のドライブを記録した写真集です。
わたしは祖母の運転する車の助手席に座り、窓の外を流れる風景や、ハンドルを握る祖母の手、バックミラーに映る表情を写真に収めました。
いつもと変わらない道、見慣れた景色。それでも、これが祖母が運転する最後のドライブだと思うと、目に映るものが少し違って見えました。
何気なくシャッターを切った一枚一枚の写真には、それまで当たり前だった日常が、静かに移り変わっていく気配が残されているように感じます。

THE LAST DRIVE is a photobook documenting the final drive of the artist's grandmother, who decided to stop driving at the age of 85.
Sitting in the passenger seat beside her, the artist photographed the passing scenery, his grandmother's hands on the steering wheel, and her face reflected in the rearview mirror.
The roads and landscapes were familiar, but knowing that this would be her last drive made everything feel a little different.
The book ends with a photograph of the empty parking space where her car once stood. It quietly captures a small but meaningful change in everyday life.
